Daily updated training info + stuff #AKtraining

12 January 2017

Really feeling it this morning, and knee felt quite stiff last night after sitting on the settee for a long time. Waking up I really had that ‘have a rest day’ feeling, but it soon past, and felt ok after the long walk up to the gym.

The Day's Training

  • 5km run (27min)
  • 5km row (22min)
  • Deadlift 5x5x120kg = 3000kg
  • Andy lift 3x5x40kg = 600kg
  • Bench press 1x10x50kg = 500kg
  • + Climbing day

Note:These numbers don't include warm up, which tend to be done at 25%, 50% and 75% of final weigh.

Notes

Wasn’t sure about running today as fine running is the number one exercise where caution is needed in order to avoid injury (with most exercises and climbing I tend to be very physically cautious, and always play close attention to fingers and knees and try not to push it). In the end I started easy on the runner and cranked it up and felt OK finishing at 12kph, then straight onto the rower. I always try to get a sub 20min time for 5km, but not been rowing for a while, so just keep up a good speed. Weights wise felt strong on deadlifts (even after 3 days I’m starting to look like my body is getting its shit together), and it was nice to hear 120kg of metal banging down on the mats after each rep. Again ran out of time to hit 5000kg, but let myself off as weaker me would not even have turned up!
